Educational Facilities

I have experience working with school campuses across the state.  My project experience is as follows:

Currently working on two new schools in Lexington School District V

Lexington School District V High School and CATE Center
and Lexington School District V Elementary School

Charleston County:
Ladson Elementary School
Hunley Park Elementary School
E.B. Ellington Elementary School

Horry County:
Waccamaw Elementary School
Lakewood Elementary School

Columbia:
Keenan High School

Florence-Darlington:
Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing

Typical scope of services for school projects includes planting plans and specifications, coordination of irrigation plan and periodic construction observation.  One of my main concerns in the design process is safety on school campuses.  Pedestrian visibility is always on the top of my list.  Also making sure plant material is neither dangerous with sharp points nor poisonous.  Low maintenance and cost over the life of the project is also very important in a school setting.  Meeting prevailing ordinance requirements is also a major criteria.  My dual background in horticulture along with landscape architecture allows me to bring to the design a unique strength in both the understanding of good design and the sustainable needs of the landscaping in an often modified or limited budget.
